Moving is a basic human need. Movement in general and sports training in particular not only strengthen the body, but also the psyche. Unfortunately, not everyone can get up and move, stretch their legs. Those who sit in a wheelchair or are even bedridden often have only very limited possibilities. The lack of movement and the lack of training lead to an increasing loss of muscle strength and an impairment of the overall well-being.
Now you can find one way to alleviate the lack of movement in our Seniorie St Joseph in Consdorf. Thanks to your donations, we were able to purchase a MOTOmed movement therapy device for 7.235 Euros. MOTOmed is used worldwide in neurological, orthopedic and cardiological rehabilitation and geriatrics. Scientific studies have confirmed the effectiveness and proven the benefits of this form of movement therapy both in everyday therapy and in independent training. The special feature of MOTOmed is that the movement therapy can be carried out from a chair, wheelchair or from the nursing bed. The passive, the supportive and the active movements are based on cycling. The cyclic movements of the legs and arms or the upper body are motor-assisted and can therefore be adapted to individual needs and abilities.
MOTOmed movement therapy activates the residual muscle strength of our residents, reduces spasticity, strengthens the psyche and well-being and counteracts general exhaustion.

On behalf of the residents, we would like to thank all the donors who made this project possible.
