Eng oppen Hand fir Malawi
Eng oppen Hand fir Malawi is an officially recognised non-governmental organisation (NGO). Founded on 30 June 1989. It focuses primarily on development aid for the population in the villages of the B’Watalika region in the Lilongwe district with the aim of improving people’s living conditions.
About us
The missionary work that the Zitha sisters began in Malawi in 1959 has increasingly became development aid work over the years. This brought new challenges for the sisters, which led them to found the NGO Eng oppen Hand fir Malawi in 1989, which can implement aid projects more effectively.
Our main areas of support
Eng oppen Hand fir Malawi supports projects that are essentially aimed at improving the living conditions of the country’s rural population. The focus of our development work is on access to clean water, improvement of hygienic conditions, economic development of village communities through more productive agriculture, promotion of education for women and children as well as humanitarian aid in acute emergency situations.
Projects
The projects of “Eng oppen Hand fir Malawi” are intended to benefit the population in the B’Watalika region and the surrounding villages. In addition, the NGO sees its task as accompanying the people in Malawi over several years in the realization of the projects. All of our projects are 80% co-financed by the Luxembourg government.
